You will not only get to work with our knowledgeable, supportive and friendly Engineers. But you will also get to develop a chosen skill, which doesn’t have to be directly connected with what you are working on. That’s right; every other Wednesday afternoon you can learn new skills while working!


You will be working closely with Hardware and Software Development Managers. You will inspire and guide the Test Team of 5. And you will work alongside our Design Engineers, who will be happy to support you and answer any questions. You will also get an opportunity for a promotion once you prove yourself!


Your everyday tasks will entail


Coordinate test and calibration solutions.

Ensure all test systems are at the correct build standard and in accordance with traceable certification.

Train & support Operations Staff & CEMs as required on the use and operation of Pico’s test system(s).

Support Contract Electronics Manufacturers (CEMs) on a routine basis and especially during New Product



To perform in the role, you will have



Preferably a degree in Electronics Engineering or relevant discipline, HNC or relevant experience.

Good experience in developing test methods and test system architectures for production test/calibration, and electronics design.

Understanding of metrology, and the application of test solutions to traceable standards.

Hardware (60%) and software (40%) awareness.

What you will need?

  • A degree or HND/ HNC in electronic engineering preferred, but we will also consider candidates with relevant experience.
  • DC to 2GHz circuit level experience including analysis, simulation and test.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture tools (ideally OrCAD, CADENCE or Spice tool set, but we can train you)
  • Experience of PCB layout of mixed signal, RF, microwave or gigabit technology.
  • High speed ADC’s.

  • Assist in the test/ verification of electronic hardware.
  • Assist with the product transition into production (Dfx), including providing all relevant assembly information.
  • Support the Technical Customer Support team and other departments when required.
  • Continuous process improvement activities.

What you will need?

  • A degree or HND/ HNC in electronic engineering preferred, but we will also consider candidates with relevant experience.
  • Digital/analogue design experience.
  • Ability to fault-find/ debug and awareness of various test methodologies, and stimulation tools.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture tools (ideally OrCAD, CADENCE tool set, but we can train you) and understanding of constraints.

  • PCB stackup design, symbol and footprint creation to IPC standards.
  • Schematic capture/ PCB design for new products​​
  • Design calculations/simulations and prototype to estimate performance, reliability and the identification/elimination of high-risk areas ensuring high quality designs requiring minimal re-design.
  • Component selection for new and existing designs, taking into account obsolescence, availability and cost​​
  • Product transition into production (DfX), including providing all relevant assembly information

To perform in the role, you will have HND/HNC or ONC with good practical experience in multi-layer PCB design.

  • Conduct investigations to discover root cause and take corrective action(s) when problems arise
  • Identify risks or technical non-conformity issues and ensure all Technical Documentation and Declarations of Conformity are up to date​​
  • Perform relevant tests and risk assessments, and ensure all post-market surveillance and reporting obligations are met
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Manager to address compliance requirements and issues
  • Help develop internal policies
  • Keep up to date with regulatory developments within or outside the company as well as evolving best practice in compliance control. 
  • Prepare reports/presentations for Senior Management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate

What you will need?

  • Technical degree preferred and experience within electronic product development/manufacture.
  • In depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations such as LVD, EMC, RoHS, WEEE, etc.​​
  • Thorough understanding of routes to compliance.
  • Experience of International approvals requirements & processes such CB route to safety compliance.
  • Appreciation of the relevant business/design drivers and associated manufacturing issues.
