You will be working closely with Hardware and Software Development Managers. working alongside our Design Engineers, who will be happy to support you and answer any questions. You will also get an opportunity for a promotion once you prove yourself!


Your everyday tasks will entail

  • Design and improve our hardware test solutions
  • System fault finding
  • Coordinate test and calibration solutions.
  • Ensure all test systems are at the correct build standard and in accordance with traceable certifications
  • Train & support Operations Staff & CEMs as required on the use and operation of Pico’s test system(s).
  • Support Contract Electronics Manufacturers (CEMs) on a routine basis and especially during New Product



To perform in the role, you will have

  • Preferably a degree in Electronics Engineering or relevant discipline, HNC or relevant experience.
  • Good experience in developing test methods and test system architectures for production test/calibration, and electronics design.
  • Understanding of metrology, and the application of test solutions to traceable standards.
  • Hardware (80%) and software (20%) awareness.

Technical Support Engineer

Pico is currently looking for someone we can put our trust in, to help our customers make the best use of our world-leading PC Oscilloscopes and software.

You will:

  • Be able to create example code to demonstrate the full capabilities of our PicoScope hardware.
  • Assist customers in writing a wide variety of cool and interesting applications.
  • Assist the Development and Marketing teams with the testing and evaluation of new products and software features.
  • Provide after-sales technical support to existing customers and distributors via telephone, email, and the forum for Pico’s hardware and software products.
  • Record and investigate software and hardware bugs reported by customers.
  • Assist customers in selecting the correct products for their application.

What we are looking for from you:

  • Demonstrable experience in writing code in any language to control hardware.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Front line support/ customer service experience desirable.
  • Previous experience in electronics and using test equipment is an advantage.
  • It would be an advantage to have a broad understanding of oscilloscopes, data loggers, or other electronic measuring instruments.
  • In-depth knowledge of PCs and Operating systems is vital.

Terms and conditions:

  • Full-time position – 40 hours a week with a paid 30 minutes lunch break
  • Hybrid working – 2 days a week in our St Neots Office, these days are flexible and do not need to be the same 2 days each week. Your core working hours are 10 am till 3 pm

Software Test Engineer
Do you enjoy software testing? Are you inquisitive and do you have the testing mindset? If so, this could be the opportunity for you!

As a test engineer, you will

  • Complete defined features and tasks
  • Communicate progress and identify blocking issues
  • Assist in backlog refinement - breaking down stories and providing consistent estimations
  • Identify and communicate blocking issues
  • Facilitate testing within the team
  • Create manual test cases and mind maps to aid testing
  • Be one of the persons responsible for product / project progression
  • Identify areas where they can apply themself to drive quality forward
  • Identify risks
  • Assist in improving the team’s quality culture 
  • Narrow down and support debugging of issues when needed 

What we are looking for from you:

  • To have experience in manual testing - functional, system, performance, exploratory and stress testing
  • ​To highly value quality, have great attention to detail, and seek alternative perspectives 
  • ​To have experience with problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • ​To have the drive to learn and research into areas to expand the skill set of your team and provide the best
  • experience for end-users
  • May have experience in Agile Methodologies 
  • ​You may have experience with testing hardware / embedded systems
  • ​You may have experience with Windows, Mac, and Linux
  • ​You may have experience with test automation
